To correct the issue, dealers will tighten the wiper motor drive nut along with three motor mounting bolts at no cost to vehicle owners.

The company expects the update to be available for all 2024 and newer Mack trucks by the end of the summer, with plans to extend the software to all eligible post-2010 models by the end of 2027.

The winning graphics feature a red, white, and blue theme along with emblems representing all six branches of the U.S. military, giving fans a direct role in choosing how the trucks would appear throughout the 2026 season.

Instead of selecting the design internally, Mack opened the decision to fans. The chosen wrap highlights the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Space Force while incorporating patriotic colors that will be displayed on trucks traveling with NASCAR equipment from race to race.

The fan vote was part of Mack’s support of NASCAR Salutes, which returns each year as one of the sport’s military appreciation initiatives.

Alex Lee, senior product manager for vocational and medium-duty vehicles at Mack Trucks, explained how the system works for everyday driving. “The system includes a camera in the windshield, along with radar units in the front bumper and passenger side. It offers forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with an adjustable time gap, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, speed-limit sign identification with overspeed alerts, and right-side lane-change and blind-spot support with pedestrian and bicyclist detection.”

Lee also described how the alerts communicate with drivers. “If a pedestrian or vehicle is detected, a warning lamp flashes on the A-pillar. It glows orange as the truck gets closer and beeps and turns red if the vehicle gets too close. The radars are designed to cover a 102-inch width and track objects between 150 and 250 meters in ideal daylight highway conditions.”
