The new store is located at 8099 State Route 109 near Interstate 90 at Exit 39 and adds 108 truck parking spaces along one of the Midwest’s busiest freight corridors.

For drivers moving freight across Ohio, northern Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and surrounding Midwest routes, additional parking near the turnpike can make a noticeable difference during peak evening parking hours when truck parking availability tightens quickly.

According to Love’s, the Fulton County location was developed to strengthen the company’s presence along the heavily traveled Ohio Turnpike corridor, which continues carrying significant commercial traffic throughout the region.

The Location Adds Parking, Showers, Food, and Driver Amenities

The company also said the location includes space allocated for future EV charging infrastructure if demand increases enough to support installation partnerships with local utility providers.

Truck parking availability continues to become a larger issue across major freight corridors nationwide, especially near turnpike systems and heavily traveled interstate routes. Love’s said the company has already added 642 truck parking spaces across the country in 2026.

Love’s Continues Expanding and Updating Existing Locations

Alongside the new Ohio location, Love’s has also recently completed renovations at its travel stop in Aurora as part of the company’s Road Ahead Plan.

According to the company, the Nebraska location received updated showers and laundry facilities, remodeled restrooms, expanded drink and coffee areas, refreshed food offerings, and broader interior upgrades tied to the company’s modernization efforts.

So far in 2026, Love’s says it has opened seven new locations while completing updates at 13 existing stores nationwide.

As part of the Delta grand opening, the company also announced:

Plans first announced in 2023 to modernize 36 rest areas statewide are now moving into visible construction phases. That effort includes expanding parking availability to better match today’s traffic levels and freight demand.

Recent reopenings along Interstate 75 in Miami County mark an early milestone. Rest areas in Troy and Piqua, which had been closed for more than a year, are now back in service with expanded capacity. The Troy location offers 48 truck parking spaces, while Piqua provides 46 spaces.

Attention is now turning to Interstate 71, where rest areas in Medina County are being converted specifically for truck parking use. These locations are scheduled to close on March 2, after which demolition and reconstruction will begin.

“There are additional rest areas within 30 miles of this location, and upgrading these rest areas would have required a significant investment,” said Bob Weaver, deputy director for District 3 at the Ohio Department of Transportation. “Converting them to truck parking will help to improve safety for all motorists along the I-71 corridor.”

Once completed, the northbound I-71 site will provide 29 truck parking spaces, while the southbound location will add 66 spaces. The $6.8 million project also includes upgraded lighting and restroom facilities to support overnight and extended stops.

According to ODOT, roughly 3,000 trucks move through this stretch of I-71 each day, underscoring the need for added capacity in a corridor that sees steady commercial traffic.

This work is part of a broader statewide push. Last July, Ohio announced a separate initiative to add approximately 1,400 truck parking spaces across the state. Freight volumes are projected to rise significantly, with ODOT estimating a 26% increase by 2045.

“As Ohio’s economy continues to grow, so do the number of trucks traveling on Ohio’s network of interstates and state routes,” said Mike DeWine in a statement. “By expanding safe, accessible places for drivers to rest, we’re supporting the people who keep our economy moving and making it safer for everyone on our roads.”

If completed as planned, the expansion would place Ohio at the top nationally for long-term truck parking spaces on state-owned property, according to the American Transportation Research Institute.

• Ohio Truck Parking Expansion Project: Allocated $17.9 million to repurpose two closed rest areas in Trumbull and Preble Counties into new truck parking facilities. The I-70 eastbound site near New Paris will offer 100 parking spaces, while the I-80 eastbound near Hubbard will provide 38 spaces. These will feature video surveillance and integrate with the Truck Parking Information Management System for real-time updates.
• I-43 Safety Rest Areas and Truck Parking Expansions, Wisconsin: With a $12.5 million investment, this project will revamp Rest Area 51 Maribel and Rest Area 52 Denmark facilities in Manitowoc County. Enhancements include new buildings, maintenance garages, and an increase of 72 truck parking spaces. The project also involves lighting updates, roadway reconstruction, and pavement improvements, aligning with the state’s Truck Parking Information Management System.
• I-80 East Lane Addition and Shoulder Widening, Nevada: This $275 million endeavor in Washoe County will widen I-80 between Vista Boulevard and USA Parkway, adding a lane each way, shoulder expansions, and 50 new truck parking spots.

Todd Spencer, president of the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association, expressed gratitude for the funding, stating, “Lack of safe truck parking has been a top concern of truckers for decades, and as a truck driver, I can tell you firsthand that when truckers don’t have a safe place to park, we are put in a no-win situation. We must either continue to drive while fatigued or out of legal driving time, or park in an undesignated and unsafe location like the side of the road or abandoned lot. It forces truck drivers to make a choice between safety and following federal Hours-of-Service rules. OOIDA and the 150,000 small business truckers we represent thank Secretary Buttigieg and the Department for their increased focus on resolving an issue that has plagued our industry for decades.”
